Urban Network Presentation (summary)

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

We wanted to examine urban networks deeply in a different point of view, but first we started with the basic definitions. So what kind of networks does a city consist of? The physical network, railway network, canals, scheduled flights which can connect cities trough very big distances, for instance. But the so called immaterial networks do exist. They cannot be sensed physically, but they play a very important part of the city, on different territories. Global finance, trading, markets, cultural links, shared social spaces, shared history. We will present some references tomorrow at the presentation, but you can find more information about them with these links we will give you now.
