Beijing's Linked Hydrid is an eight-tower microorganism,wihich is connected throught walkways.The building ground is located adjacent to the site of the old city wall of Beijing. Multifaceted layres, over and under the ground with attached green areas let the building appear as "open city whitin a city". The project promotes interactive relations and accomplishes commercial, residential and educational instituions in its organism as a 21 century building it is supplying the inhabitants with all the activities and programs for their daily lives.

The Linked Hybrid was designed by the New York architect Steven Holl for the Modern Investment Group in Beijing. The building site has a sizeof 220,000 square meters and offers 644 appartments public green space in differents levels, commercial zones, a hotel, cinema, kindergarden, Montessori school and an underground parking. Steven Holl Architects have experience in Asia, as they already completed housing projects in Japan 1991 and 1996 successfully. The microorganism has one of the largest geothermal cooling and heating system in the world, it works without any supplementary heating or air coditionores. The cinema is an emblem and forms the center of complex. At night projections occur on the exterior and the spectable creates a color reflection effect in the water.
